Davydov Andrey Nikolaevich, репрессированный
A resident of Tomsk. A prisoner of the Gulag from 1938 to 1949. A member of the Tomsk Memorial Society.
Born October 10, 1915.
Place of birth: rural settlement Shumikhinsky, Kurgan region.
In 1938 he lived in Kazakhstan and worked as an accountant for the Progress artel.
He was arrested on June 16, 1938. By a verdict of the North Kazakhstan Regional Court on October 17, 1938, he was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment under Articles 72, 50-10, and 116 of the Criminal Code on charges of anti-Soviet agitation and counter-revolutionary activities. He served his sentence in Khabarovsk Krai. He was released from prison on July 16, 1948. On May 21, 1958, the case against him was dismissed by the Criminal Cases Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Kazakh SSR "due to insufficient evidence."
He lived in Tomsk and was a member of the Tomsk Memorial Society.
In 1995, with the assistance of members of the Memorial Society, he achieved that his stay in places of imprisonment during the war and his work at the GULAG facilities were equated to the work of home front workers. On June 16, 1995, he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and the jubilee medal "50 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War".
He died on January 16, 1996 in Tomsk.
