Genus. in 1901 in the city of Lepel, Vitebsk region, member of the CPSU (b) from 1920 to 1937. In 1922-1924. history teacher at the Higher School of Command Staff in Kharkov. Since 1924, teacher at the Military-Political Academy. In 1924-1930 he taught at the Communist University. I.V. Stalin, from 1926 at Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after. A.I. Herzen. Since 1930 he worked at the Leningrad Oriental Institute. In 1932-1934. in LIFLY. In 1935 - professor at the Leningrad Oriental Institute, senior researcher at the Institute of History of the USSR Academy of Sciences, head of the department of general history at the Military-Political Academy named after. N.G. Tolmacheva. Brigadier Commissar. Lived in Leningrad, K. Liebknecht Ave., 37, apt. 32. Arrested 10/27/1936. On December 19, 1936, at a visiting session of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the USSR Armed Forces in Leningrad, he was sentenced under Art. 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to VMN. Shot in Leningrad on February 10, 1937. Rehabilitated 03/24/1956.
08.11.2015 at house No. 2 on Tavricheskaya Street in St. Petersburg in memory of M.S. Godes. A personal memorial sign was installed as part of the "Last Address" project.
