Kozyrev Nikolai Alexandrovich
Genus. in 1908 in St. Petersburg, in a noble family; Russian; higher education. Astronomer, professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Worked at the Pulkovo Observatory. Arrested 11/07/1936. Sentenced by the Supreme Court of the USSR Armed Forces on May 25, 1937 under Art. 17, 58-8, 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 10 years of labor camp and 5 years of deprivation of political rights. Was in prison in Dmitrovsk-Orlovsky until May 1939 , transferred to Norillag. From January 1940 he worked as a surveyor in Dudinka at the permafrost station. Arrested in October 1941. Sentenced on January 10, 1942 by the Taimyr District Court to 10 years in a labor camp. In 1944 he was sent by convoy from Norilsk. He worked in the Lower Tunguska geological expedition until March 1945. On December 14, 1946, at the request of fellow astronomers, he was released on parole. Rehabilitated 02/21/1958. Until 1958 he worked at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory of the USSR Academy of Sciences, then at the Pulkovo Observatory. Died 1983
