Cooperman Matvey Ilyich
Born in 1905 in Kobrin, Grodno Governorate; Jewish; higher education - graduated from the Leningrad Technological Institute in 1937; no p. Engineer-technologist. Worked as an engineer in Sverdlovsk and Gorky. From January 1941 - in Leningrad, design engineer at Termoproekt. In July 1941 he volunteered for the front. In September 1941 he was captured, gave his name as Kupriyanov, was held in Stettin, and from 1943 - in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. From May 1945 to January 1946 - in filtration camps. Dismissed to the reserve with the rank of senior lieutenant. Returned to Leningrad, worked at SMU-5 Stroytermoizolyatsiya. Arrested on 05.02.1951. Sentenced by the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR on 19.05.1951 under Article 58-1 "b" to 10 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in Vorkuta. Released in October 1955 by decree of 17.09.1955. Rehabilitated by the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Military District on 02.04.1958.
