Neunyvako Pavel Efimovich
Civil War participant, military man, chess composer
Born in 1897 in the village of Kyuntaugan, Yevpatoriya district, Taurida province; Ukrainian; from a peasant family; higher education; member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks). Participant in the Civil War - commander of the 408th International Regiment. Graduated from the Frunze Military Academy of the Red Army and was assigned to Vinnitsa. In 1929 he moved to Kharkov and worked in the defense sector of the State Planning Committee of Ukraine. In 1930-1933 - chairman of the All-Ukrainian Chess and Checkers Section. Exiled to the city of Alma-Ata. Worked as an accountant at an asphalt repair plant. Arrested on 11.04.1938. Sentenced on 07.02.1940 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on charges of preparing terrorist acts and participating in a counter-revolutionary organization to capital punishment. Shot on 08.02.1940 in Moscow, burial place - Donskoye Cemetery. Rehabilitated by the Military Commission of the USSR Armed Forces on 18.04.1963.
