Born in 1906 in St. Petersburg; Russian; no name. Head of the Astrophysics Department of the Main Astronomical Observatory of the USSR (GAO). Arrested on 11 May 1937 in the so-called "Pulkovo case". Sentenced by a special panel of the Leningrad Regional Court on 17 June 1937 under Article 58-10-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in a correctional labor camp. Imprisoned in Siblag. Sentenced to capital punishment by a troika of the NKVD Directorate of the West Siberian Region on 25 December 1937 under Article 58-2-8-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Executed on 13 January 1938. Rehabilitated in 1956.
