Punin Nikolay Nikolaevich
Born in 1888 in Helsinki. Graduated from the history and philology department of St. Petersburg University. Arrested in 1921. Case closed on 05.02.1921. Arrested on 24.10.1935. Case closed, released in November 1935. In 1949 he lived in Leningrad, Fontanka River Embankment, bldg. 34, apt. 44. Arrested on 26.08.1949. Sentenced by the Special Specialized Department of the MGB of the USSR on 22.02.1950 to 10 years in a labor camp under Art. 58-8, 58-10 part 1, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. He died on 21.08.1953 in a labor camp in the village of Abez, Kozhvinsky District, Komi ASSR. Rehabilitated on 26.04.1957 by the Presidium of the Leningrad City Court.
On March 22, 2015, a personal memorial sign was installed at house No. 34 on the Fontanka River embankment in memory of N.N. Punin as part of the Last Address project.
