001. Tomsk Polonia: history and modernity / V. A. Khanevich // "Siberian Polonia: past, present, future". - Tomsk, 1999. - P. 22-29

The article examines the history of the Polish diaspora in the Tomsk region from the late 1930s to the end of the 20th century, focusing on the consequences of the deportation of Poles in 1940, repressions, and the processes of restoration of Polish cultural and national identity. It describes the participation of Polish citizens deported to Siberia in the formation of the Polish army during the Great Patriotic War, as well as their life under the totalitarian regime, including the creation of cultural and educational institutions such as Polish schools, orphanages, and cultural associations supported by the Polish embassy.

The article analyzes the impact of post-war Soviet policy on the Polish diaspora, emphasizing the period of silencing of Polish identity and the practice of Russification. In the context of democratization in the 1980s and 1990s, there was a revival of Polish self-awareness in Tomsk, which is reflected in the activities of Polish public organizations such as Memorial, Dom Polski, and Bely Oryol. These organizations played a key role in studying the repressions, restoring cultural traditions, and returning the Catholic church to Tomsk.

The final part of the article touches upon contemporary processes of strengthening Polish national identity and cultural heritage in the Tomsk region, including support for Polish traditions, organization of cultural events and development of relations with Poland.
