The article by V.A. Khanevich "The Catholic Necropolis of Tomsk as a Database on the History of the Tomsk Polish Colony of the Second Half of the 19th — Early 20th Centuries" is devoted to the study of the history of Catholic cemeteries in the city of Tomsk and the compilation of a unique necropolis, which includes information on almost 5 thousand people buried in the Catholic cemetery from 1841 to 1920. Unlike traditional methods of compiling necropolises, this work uses a new approach based on the data of the metric books of the Tomsk Roman Catholic Church. This allows us to present a complete picture of the life and death of Catholics, among whom Polish surnames predominate, as well as the social composition and ethnic diversity of the cemetery. The article emphasizes the importance of this source for the study of the history of the Polish colony in Tomsk, reflecting in it the history of the participants in the Polish uprising of 1863, political exiles, settlers, as well as representatives of various professions. The work opens up new perspectives for the study of the cultural and social heritage of the Polish community in Siberia.
