The article by V.A. Khanevich examines one of the key areas of historical and educational activities of the Tomsk branch of the Memorial Society — the study of political repressions against people of Polish nationality. From the first years of the society’s existence, the attention of Memorial members was drawn to the tragedy in the village of Bialystok, which became the starting point for archival research and collection of evidence. The author describes in detail the responses to publications, appeals from relatives of the repressed, work with archival and investigative files, correspondence with Polish citizens, as well as cooperation with Polish organizations and deported Poles. Considerable attention is paid to the consequences of NKVD order No. 00485, which became the basis for mass repressions. Tomsk Memorial actively participated in the international coordination of work on the Polish issue, including through the Polish Commission in Moscow and the conference in Warsaw. The result of many years of work was the publication of books, holding services in memory of the repressed, and assistance in restoring family ties.
