Krasnovsky Vsevolod Vitalievich (Bishop Gabriel)
Born in 1885 in Moscow into a priest's family. In 1899 he graduated from the Zaikonospassky Theological School, in 1905 - the Moscow Theological Seminary, in 1911 - the law faculty of Moscow University. In 1916-1917 he fought on the Romanian Front with the rank of second lieutenant, in February 1917 after a shell shock he returned to Moscow. In 1918-1919 he worked in the People's Commissariat of State Control of the RSFSR. In 1919-1921 he served as a platoon commander in the school of senior instructors of the Tyachiv Artillery Brigade of the Red Army and as a senior clerk of the Main Directorate of Military Educational Institutions. In 1921 he was ordained a priest. In 1923 he took monastic vows. From 1923 - Bishop of Klin, until 1925 he was with the Moscow Diocese. He was administratively exiled twice: in 1926 to the Toplovsky Monastery, in 1928 to Zarechye, Vladimir Province. He moved to Feodosia, then to Bakhchisarai. Arrested on 25.04.1932. Sentenced on 07.07.1932 by the OS KOGPU under Art. 58-11 to 3 years in a concentration camp. Released in 1935. Lived in the city of Stary Krym, from 1936 - in Genichesk, Crimean ASSR. Arrested on 10.04.1941. Sentenced on 18.07.1941 by the Zaporizhzhya Regional Court to capital punishment under Art. 54-10, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR. Shot on 18.08.1941. Buried in Zaporozhye. Rehabilitated by the USSR Prosecutor's Office on 07.05.1990 (in the 1932 case). Rehabilitated by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office on 08.06.1993 (in the 1941 case).
