Genus. in 1868 in the village. Pogreshino Nerekhtsky district Kostroma province In 1900 he graduated from the Kyiv Theological Academy. Since 1907 - Bishop of Akkerman, since 1911 - Bishop of Chigirin. In 1918 he was arrested by supporters of S.V. Petlyura, spent 9 months in captivity. In 1922, he was arrested on charges of resisting the seizure of church valuables and sentenced to eight years in prison. In 1923 he was released under an amnesty. Arrested again on January 14, 1924, exiled to the Turkestan region for two years. In 1926 he was released, but was soon arrested again and again sent to Turkestan. After his release in 1929, he was deprived of the right to live in large cities and in Ukraine. Since 1932 - Archbishop of Kostroma and Galich. Arrested on December 3, 1936 by the Kostroma city department of the NKVD. 03/27/1937 by decision of the Troika OS of the NKVD of the USSR on the basis of Art. 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, sentenced to 5 years of exile in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Arrested again on September 3, 1937 by the NKVD Directorate for the Yaroslavl Region. 08/21/1938 died in the Yaroslavl prison hospital. Rehabilitated in 1993
