Genus. in 1924 in Leningrad. Non-partisan. During the Second World War, he was an aircraft mechanic in an assault aviation regiment. After the war, war correspondent for the army newspaper "Wings of the Motherland". Arrested on January 20, 1949 by the MGB of the Carpathian Military District. 05/17/1949 The Military Tribunal of the Carpathian Military District sentenced to 10 years of labor camp with loss of rights for a period of 5 years under Art. 58-10. He served his sentence, incl. on the construction of the Salekhard-Igarka railway. By the decision of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the USSR, the punishment was changed to 5 years of labor camp without loss of rights. Rehabilitated on March 25, 1959 by the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the USSR.
