Genus. in 1884 in Orenburg. In 1912 he graduated from the Kazan Theological Academy. Since 1922 - Bishop of Spassky, vicar of the Kazan diocese. In 1927-1929 was in exile in the Narym region in the Tomsk province. Since 1929 - Bishop of Irkutsk. Since 1930 - Bishop of Vladivostok. Arrested on May 25, 1931 in Vladivostok in the case “On the counter-revolutionary activities of Tikhonov’s clergy and monasticism in the Far Eastern Territory” together with Bishop Panteleimon (Maksunov) of Khabarovsk. Sentenced on 02/15/1932 by a troika at the PP OGPU of the USSR in the Far Eastern Territory on charges of “anti-Soviet agitation and dissemination of counter-revolutionary literature” to 10 years in labor camp. He served his sentence in Belbaltlag. Sentenced on September 09, 1937 by a visiting meeting of the NKVD troika of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic for “counter-revolutionary propaganda” to VMN.
