Genus. 10/15/1885 in the village. Aleshki (Oleshki) Kherson region. (modern Tsyurupinsk, Ukraine). Graduated from the Stroganov Art and Industrial School in Moscow (1906), Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (workshop of V.A. Serov), artist of the first degree (1910). Participant of the 1st World War. He worked as a book graphic artist in Moscow. In 1917 he returned to Ukraine. Since 1919 in Kyiv. Head of the Kyiv branch of the Association of Artists of Red Ukraine, member of the board of the All-Ukrainian Arts Department. Since 1920, member of the council of the Kyiv Art Academy, teacher at the Kyiv Higher Institute of Public Education named after M. Drahomanov. Arrested in Kyiv on March 27, 1934, by a resolution of the OS Kogpu of the Ukrainian SSR dated March 31, 1934, he was sentenced under Art. 54–11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR (participant of the “UVO”) to exile for 3 years in the Northern Territory. In exile in the city of Kotlas, Arkhangelsk region. He worked as a decorator in a club. He died on July 15, 1935 in Kotlas. He was buried in the city cemetery "Makarikha", the grave has not survived. Rehabilitated in 1989.
