Genus. 05/28/1924 in Leningrad. He graduated from 10 classes at the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. In 1941 he was admitted to the conservatory without exams. During the war he was in besieged Leningrad, playing in orchestras that remained in the besieged city. Arrested on December 10, 1943 at the age of nineteen, sentenced to death by the Military Tribunal. The death penalty was replaced by ten years in the camps. At the Vorkuta Musical and Drama Theater he was an accompanist and conductor.After his release, he worked at the Komi Republican Drama Theater (Syktyvkar), where he conducted an orchestra and composed music for theatrical productions.
In 1958, he was invited to work as a conductor of the Voronezh State Theater of Musical Comedy (later the State Opera and Ballet Theater). Over the course of 23 years, dozens of opera and ballet performances were staged with his participation. All his outstanding works were created here: ballets, symphonies, instrumental concerts. The ballet “Song of Triumphant Love,” written by the composer based on the story by I. S. Turgenev, was performed on the stage of the Voronezh Theater for about twenty years. In 1967 he became a member of the USSR Investigative Committee. D. D. Shostakovich gave him a recommendation for joining. Tragically passed away on March 24, 1981. He was buried in Voronezh at the South-Western Cemetery. Rehabilitated by the Supreme Court of the USSR in 1988.
