Genus. in 1865 in Arkhangelsk. In 1885 he graduated from the Arkhangelsk Theological Seminary. Since 1917 - Bishop of Pinega. Arrested in 1920, sentenced to death, the sentence was commuted to five years' imprisonment. Since 1926 - Bishop of Staritsky, since 1926 - Bishop of the Ural and Pokrovsky, since 1929 - Bishop of Chelyabinsk, since 1931 - Bishop of Yenisei and Krasnoyarsk. In 1933 he was elevated to the rank of Archbishop of Irkutsk. Arrested in September 1937. Died on November 24, 1937 in prison.
