Based on a denunciation, Kirov was expelled from the party and graduate school “for connections with a convicted terrorist.” In 1935 protested the decision of the PTI party bureau in the Control Party Commission of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, but was refused reinstatement in the party “for dulling vigilance, expressed in personal acquaintance with the enemy of the people and expressing sympathy for him.” Arrested on April 16, 1935 on charges of counter-revolutionary activities. Sentenced by the resolution of the OSO NKVD of the USSR dated July 25, 1935 to 5 years. In custody in Vorkuta. Released on April 16, 1940. Later an employee of the Institute of Semiconductors of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
