Genus. in 1878 in Tambov into a merchant family. Graduated from the Kazan Theological Academy. In 1901-1902 - teacher at the Ufa Theological School. In 1901 he was tonsured a monk. In 1903-1906. - Inspector of the Ufa Theological Seminary. In 1906-1913 - rector of the Poltava Theological Seminary with the rank of archimandrite. Since 1913 - Bishop of Gomel, vicar of the Mogilev diocese. In 1918-1919 he lived in Kyiv. 06/23/1919 arrested in Gomel, released 07/05/1919. Since 1923 - Bishop of Pskov and Porkhov. In 1923-1924. temporarily ruled the Gomel diocese. In 1924 he was arrested in Pskov and sentenced to two years in prison. In 1924-1926. was imprisoned in the Yaroslavl prison. Since 1927 - Archbishop of Perm. Since December 1927 - vicar of the Yaroslavl diocese, temporarily managing the Lyubimsky vicariate. 09/07/1929 arrested in Yaroslavl. Sentenced on 01/03/1930 by the OS at the OGPU collegium to 3 years of labor camp under Art. 58-10,11. He was in the Kotlas camp. On May 20, 1931, the term was increased to 10 years; transferred from Kotlas to the Solovetsky special purpose camp. 02/22/1933 released early, sent into exile to Vologda, where in 1940 he was arrested and imprisoned in the internal prison of the NKVD. Sentenced on 08/26/1941 to military service, commuted to 10 years in labor camp. 02/20/1942 died in prison No. 1 in Vologda. Rehabilitated on June 20, 1993.
