Genus. 08/08/1888 at the Polevsky plant, Ekaterinburg province; Russian; from a priest's family; secondary education; clergyman. He graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary and was ordained a priest in 1909. He served in the church in Nizhny Tagil. He was tonsured into a mantle with the name Leo. Bishop of Nizhny Tagil (from 01/23/1923). In 1923 he was arrested and was in Butyrka prison. Sentenced to 3 years of exile in Central Asia. From the end of 1923 he was in exile in the city of Poltoratsk. In 1926 he was arrested and sentenced to an additional 3 years of exile. Transferred to Kazalinsk, then to Chardzhou. In 1927 he was consecrated Bishop of Alma-Ata and Turkestan. 07/21/1929 arrested in Alma-Ata (charge: “anti-Soviet agitation and organization of counteraction to the authorities”). By a resolution of the Special Meeting of the OGPU Collegium for the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic dated November 3, 1929, he was sentenced to 3 years in labor camp. Sent to the Korzhinsky logging point (Kotlas, Arkhangelsk region), in April 1930 he was transferred to Solvychegodsk, then sent to the Mari camps, from where he was transferred to the Nizhny Novgorod camps. At the beginning of winter 1931 he was sent to Belbaltlag. Released early in April 1932. Bishop of Stavropol (from 08/11/1933), did not govern the diocese in 1934. Arrested in 1934 in Stavropol. By resolution of the Special Meeting of the NKVD of the USSR dated August 31, 1935, he was sentenced under Art. 58-10, 11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years of ITL (“active participation in the criminal group”). Imprisoned in Solovki, in April 1936 he was at the Kremlin camp. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated November 10, 1937, he was sentenced to VMN. Shot on December 8, 1937 in Leningrad. In the case of 1929, he was rehabilitated on January 16, 1995 by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the case of 1935 - on July 12, 1989 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Stavropol Territory
