Chuchin Fedor Grigorievich
Definition: Professional revolutionary, participant in the revolutionary movement and three revolutions in Russia, party and Soviet figure, initiator and one of the first organizers of Soviet philately. Professor, scientist.
Years of life: 1883-1942
Reproduction methods:

Born in 1883 in the village of Zaimishche, Novgorod Province; from peasant stock; graduated from the Cherepovets Teachers' Seminary in 1904; member of the RSDLP since 1904. Worked as a teacher. In 1905 he was convicted of revolutionary propaganda and exiled to Veliky Ustyug for 3 years. He escaped from exile and worked in the party underground, in organizations in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Orekhovo-Zuyevo. Participated in the revolution of 1905-1907, was a member of the Moscow District Committee and the St. Petersburg Committee of the RSDLP. In 1906 he was exiled to Ust-Sysolsk. In March 1907 he escaped again. In November 1907 he was arrested, in July 1910 he was exiled to the Vologda Province. He lived in Veliky Ustyug, then transferred to Vologda. He served in the provincial statistical committee, then as secretary of the consultation of attorneys at the Vologda District Court. He was in charge of the mutual aid fund and the illegal library of exiles. After the February Revolution of 1917 - member of the Tomsk Council, then commissar of the Anzhero-Sudzhensk mines, member of the Siberian regional bureau of the RSDLP(b), in 1918-1919 - member of Tsentrosibir, in 1919-1920 - member of the provincial committee, chairman of the district committee of the RCP(b) in Cherepovets. In 1920 - delegate to the IX Congress of the RCP(b). From April 1921 to 1924 - chairman of the board of the All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for the Elimination of Illiteracy. At the same time, he was the chairman of the expert commission at the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade and the head of the department of artistic treasures. From 1924, he was engaged in teaching and research work in Moscow, chairman of the party department of the State Institute of Journalism, and a member of the Moscow City Council. From 1931, he was a personal pensioner. He was arrested on 25.03.1941. He was shot on 15.01.1942 in Moscow. He was rehabilitated by the Supreme Court of the USSR on 09.06.1955.
