genus. in 1918 in the village of Grozny, from an old family of Terek Cossacks. He entered the Odessa Art School, from where in December 1939, without completing the 3rd year, he was drafted into the army. Participant in the war with Finland and the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization in October 1945. entered the All-Russian Academy of Arts, sculpture department.
Arrested on May 25, 1948, convicted by the Leningrad City Court on September 10, 1948. under Article 58-10, Part 1, for 5 years, followed by loss of rights for a period of 5 years. He served time in the Zaonezh camps (Pudozhsky district, Karelia), then at the construction of Volgodonstroy. Released in the summer of 1953. Hired by the Grozny branch of the Art Fund. In February 1955 accepted as a candidate member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, became a member of the Union of Artists in November 1956. Rehabilitated by the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR on October 18, 1956. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in 1960, at the age of 42. Among the works is a series of portraits of O. Berggolts, A. Akhmatova, S. Geichenko and others. In 1981. – State Prize of the RSFSR named after Repin.
