Botvinnik Mark Naumovich
Definition: Student of the history department of Leningrad State University

Genus. in 1917 in Petrograd. Before his arrest, he was a 4th year student at the Faculty of History at the State University. Arrested along with other members of the antique circle on January 15, 1938, he was accused of participating in a Menshevik youth organization. Sentenced to 5 years in labor camp. He served time in Usollag. Released on December 15, 1939 by the decision of the Special Meeting of the NKVD of the USSR dated November 29, 1939 due to the termination of the case. After his release, he graduated from Leningrad State University and taught. Author of a number of books on mythology and ancient history.
