Visited Joseph Brodsky in exile. Arrested on June 29, 1983, on charges of distributing anti-Soviet literature. Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on April 24, 1984 under Art. 70 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 7 years of imprisonment and 5 years of exile. Imprisoned in the Perm camps - ITK-36 (September 1984 - February 1985), ITK-35 (March 1986 - February 1987). By decree of the PVS of the USSR dated 02/02/1987, he was pardoned. Since the early 1990s. mainly abroad: he taught at the universities of Cayenne and Strasbourg.
