In 1950 he graduated from the Literary Institute. In 1957, due to the intervention of censorship, the set of the collection of poems “Summons from the Military Commissariat” was scattered. Published in samizdat and tamizdat. He spoke in support of Y. Daniel and A. Sinyavsky (1966). Member of the Soviet section of Amnesty International (since 1975). On the recommendation of G. Bell, he was admitted to the French Pen Club (since 1975). Signed a letter to the “heads of state and government” in defense of Academician A.D. Sakharov. In March 1977, he was expelled from the Union of Writers of the USSR (accepted in 1965, reinstated in 1988). The books were withdrawn from libraries and sold in 1979. He began publishing again in the USSR in 1986. He died in 2002 in Moscow.
