He worked as a senior engineer at the Northwestern Correspondence Polytechnic Institute. Arrested on 03/05/1986. for drawing an inscription on the wall of the Peter and Paul Fortress in defense of Academician Sakharov. Convicted by the Petrogradsky District Court of Leningrad on 06-12.06.1986. under Art. 206 hours 2 for 4.5 years ITC. Contained in the establishment US 20/9 in the Leningrad region. Released 05/05/1987. as a result of the review of the case by the Supreme Court of the RSFSR, which reclassified its actions from Art. 206 part 2 on article 230 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (deliberate damage to a monument of history and culture) and reduced the sentence to 1 year 2 months.
