Genus. in 1954 in Olonets, Karelia. Lived in Leningrad. He worked as a mechanic at the Pushkin Repair Plant. Arrested in Leningrad on January 6, 1979 for attempting to hijack a plane to escape to the West. Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on June 21, 1979 to 13 years in the camps on charges of “treason to the Motherland,” Art. 64a, 72, 15, 213 part 2, 218 part 1-2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR. Contained in camps: VS-36 of the Perm region (1979-1981), ST-4 of the Tatar SSR (1981-1984), ZH 3/5 in Mordovia (1984-1987), VS-35 of the Perm region ( 1987-1989). Released on September 27, 1989. After his liberation, he lived in Kharkov and worked as a Hebrew teacher in a yeshiva at the Kharkov synagogue.
