Transferred by Finnish authorities on August 12, 1959. in the region of the village of Kuolojärvi of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic while trying to escape from the USSR. Convicted by the Military Tribunal of the Northern Military District under Article 1 of the Criminal Code of the USSR (58.1) to 8 years in prison. He was kept in Dubravlaga, Mordovian SSR, l/p No. 11, No. 3. Released on August 12, 1967. Worked in geological parties.
