Gorbal Nikolai (Mykola) Andreevich

Genus. 05/06/1941 in the village. Wolywiec Gorlicki District, Poland; Ukrainian; secondary specialized education. Lived in the city of Borshchev, Ternopil region of the Ukrainian SSR. Teacher of aesthetics at the College of Agricultural Mechanization. Since 1968, he studied at the correspondence department of the music and pedagogical faculty of the Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute. Arrested on November 24, 1970. Sentenced by the Ternopil Regional Court on April 13, 1971 under Article 62 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 5 years in prison and 2 years in exile. He served his term in Dubravlaga and Perm camps, and exile in the Tomsk region. Released from exile in June 1977. Re-convicted in 1980 on trumped-up criminal charges. Sentenced by the Nikolaev Regional Court on April 10, 1985 under Art. 62 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 6 years and 3 years of exile with the addition of the unserved term, a total of 10 years of the penal colony and 5 years of exile. He served his sentence in the Perm camps. By decree of the PVS of the USSR dated August 12, 1988, he was pardoned. Rehabilitated on December 12, 1992 by the Nikolaev Regional Court on the basis of the Ukrainian SSR Law “On the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression in Ukraine.”
