Genus. in 1951, Jewish; higher education - in 1973 he graduated from the Ural University, a teacher of physics. Lived in Riga. In 1981 he received a refusal on his application to emigrate to Israel. He wrote letters to newspapers and official authorities. Picketed in Moscow by the Supreme Council with a poster "I demand the withdrawal from the citizenship of the USSR." Arrested 03/05/1984. Sentenced 06/29/1984 under Art. 183-1 of the Criminal Code of the LatSSR to 3 years of penitentiary. In custody in the Irkutsk region. Released in March 1987, emigrated to Israel with his family on 03/22/1987.
