Genus. 02/25/1939 in the city of Cherepanovo, Novosibirsk region, Jew, unemployed, higher education, lived in Leningrad. Biochemical engineer, author and distributor of Samizdat. Graduated from the Leningrad Chemical-Pharmaceutical Institute (1961), worked at the Research Institute of Polymers Art. mechanic of a special design and technological design bureau of chemistry. industry in Leningrad. Since 1966, one of the leaders of the dissident circle (group of Yu. L. Gendler - Kvachevsky L.B.). Arrested by the USSR KGB in the Leningrad region on 08/01/1968 (according to other sources - 08/05/1968) together with other members of the group. Sentenced on December 17-26, 1968 by the Leningrad City Court under Art. 70-1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 4 years in a strict regime penal colony. He served time in the Mordovian political camps and the Vladimir prison, where he was transferred in May 1970 for participating in protests of political prisoners. Released in August 1972, he was sent to live in the city of Luga, Leningrad Region, where he was under administrative supervision. Emigrated from the USSR in December 1974. Rehabilitated 12/09/1993. Died in Vienna on January 7, 2024.
