From March 1962 to July 1963 he was in Kazan St. Petersburg in connection with an attempt to cross the state border. Sentenced by the Gorky Regional Court on 04/01/1964 under Art. 70 h. 1 and art. 72 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR as the leader and organizer of an anti-Soviet youth group by 2 years and 6 months of a strict regime penitentiary. He served his term in Dubravlag.
