Lived in Moscow. In October 1979 - August 1981. - member of the Moscow Helsinki Group; signed about 100 documents of the group, collected information about the situation of dissidents in the country, which was published in the documents of the MHG. Arrested 08/25/1981. Sentenced by the Moscow City Court on 04/02/1982 under Art. 70 h. 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years of penal colony and 5 years of exile. He served his term in the Perm camps, exile - in the Kostroma region. Released on March 16, 1987 by pardon. The following month, he emigrated with his wife to the United States. Lives in New York.
