Lashkin Vadim (Vladlen) Ivanovich

Genus. in 1939 in the city of Mary, Turkmen SSR; Russian; higher education, graduated from the Kuibyshev Industrial Institute in 1961, mechanical engineer. He worked in the city of Kuibyshev at a bearing plant as a process engineer and design engineer, then as an engineer and designer at space industry enterprises, in a specialized design bureau in Kuibyshev, at post office box 651 and in the bureau of experimental mechanical engineering. He entered and studied at the graduate school of Moscow State University, worked on his dissertation under the scientific supervision of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences D.E. Okhotsimsky. Together with the professor of the Institute of Applied Mechanics V.A. Egorov was engaged in space research and problems of optimizing interorbital flights. In 1970 he moved to the city of Mary, Turkmen SSR. He worked at school as a teacher of physics, mathematics and as a chief mechanic at the Mary State District Power Plant. Then he took up tutoring. On 02/13/1974 he wrote a letter to the Pravda newspaper in defense of Solzhenitsyn, who was detained in Moscow; after Solzhenitsyn was expelled from the USSR, he continued to send letters and telegrams to various institutions. 07/19/1974 arrested and charged under Article 190-1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, 214-1 of the Criminal Code of the TSSR. Sent for forensic psychiatric examination to Ashgabat. On September 24, 1974, the judicial board for criminal cases of the Mary Regional Court sentenced him to compulsory medical measures. Placed in a special type psychiatric hospital in Tashkent, in 1978 he was transferred to the Ashgabat regional mental hospital in the village. Geok-Tape. Released 07/09/1979.
