In July 1978 I applied to leave for Israel and was refused. He took part in the Leningrad seminar on applied mathematics, organized by conscientious objectors. Since 1977 studied Hebrew and Jewish history. 05/13/1981 arrested during a conversation on Jewish history, charged under Art. 191-2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (resistance to police officers, involving violence.) Subsequently emigrated to Israel.
