Genus. in 1929 in locality. Teplik near Uman (Cherkasy region of the Ukrainian SSR). In the 1930s he moved with his family to Kuntsevo (now within Moscow). In 1948 he entered the Moscow Aviation Technological Institute and joined the anti-Soviet youth organization “All-Union Democratic Party”. Arrested on November 27, 1948, together with one of the leaders of the organization, A.I. Tarasov. He was under investigation in Lubyanka. In April 1949 he was transferred to Butyrka prison. 05/10/1949 sentenced by a Special Meeting at the USSR Ministry of State Security to 7 years of labor camp under Art. 58-10, 58-11. Transferred to Vyatlag (Kirov region). Was at camp No. 2 (Sorda station). He worked as a digger at the construction of a sawmill, as a carpenter, and as a dispatcher in the planning department. Released on October 28, 1954. Graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute (VZPI). He worked on the construction of large industrial and military facilities. Author of the development of an automated construction management system. In the 1960s, he wrote stories about the camp and distributed them in samizdat. Rehabilitated in 1989. In August 1991, he took part in the defense of the White House. In 1994-1996 - co-chairman of the Association of the Repressed in Moscow. Author of novels and essays. Member of the Union of Russian Writers. In 2011 he lived in Moscow.
