Genus. in 1929 in the village. Mikhnovets, Turkovsky district, Lviv Voivodeship, which was part of Poland at that time. In 1955 she graduated from the Lvov Teachers' Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and worked in rural schools. In 1964 she moved to Odessa. She worked as a librarian, a translator in a technical information bureau, and a teacher of working youth in a hostel. In February 1980, she was arrested and a criminal case was initiated under Art. 62 (anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda), according to which she was sentenced to indefinite “treatment” in the Kazan special-type mental hospital (special-purpose prison), where she spent 8 years. As a result of compulsory treatment, speech was lost for two years. Released in 1988. In 1991 she was rehabilitated. She was actively involved in social and political activities. She was one of the organizers of "Prosviti" in Odessa and the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers, and headed the Odessa organization of the All-Ukrainian Society of Political Prisoners and Repressed Persons. From 1992 to 1998, she headed (with interruptions) the Odessa organization of the Ukrainian Conservative Republican Party. At the international level, he represents Odessa in the American Association of Librarians and in the American Association of Soviet Political Prisoners.
In 2002, by Decree of the President of Ukraine L.D. Kuchma was awarded a lifelong scholarship as a victim for her human rights activities. November 26, 2005 By Decree of the President of Ukraine V.A. Yushchenko was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, III degree. She died on September 29, 2015 in Odessa.
