Pavlovsky Gleb Olegovich
Genus. in 1951 in Odessa. In 1968-1973 he studied at the history department of Odessa University. Until 1974 he worked as a teacher in a rural school. He first encountered the KGB in 1974 - in the case of the distribution of the Gulag Archipelago. In exchange for giving out contacts, he was not detained, but was forced to resign from school. From 1976 to 1982 he worked as a worker. He moved to Moscow, where in 1978–80 he was one of the co-editors of the Free Moscow Journal Searches. In April 1982 he was arrested on charges of publishing Poiski. During the investigation, he repented and began to cooperate with the investigation (received the agent pseudonym “Sedoy”) and instead of the camps he received three years of exile in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, in exile in Troitsko-Pechorsk. Since December 1985 - in Moscow, he was one of the founders of Russia's first legal political opposition organization - the Club of Social Initiatives (KSI). In 1987, one of the ideologists and founders of the Fact information cooperative. Later - founder of the PostFactum news agency, editor-in-chief of the magazine "XX Century and the World". Member of the Perestroika club (Moscow). In 1991-1992 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Kommersant Publishing House. In October 1993 he spoke out against decree No. 1400. In 1994-1995 - editor and publisher of the quarterly “Limits of Power”. In 1995-1996 - founder and co-editor of the journalistic review "Sreda". Since 1995 - co-founder and director of the Effective Policy Foundation. Died 02/27/2023.
