Orlov Yury Fyodorovich
Theoretical physicist, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR, human rights activist, public figure.
Genus. in 1924 in Moscow; Russian; Higher education - graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Moscow University in 1952. Theoretical physicist, physical and mathematical sciences, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR. Arrested 02/10/1977. Sentenced by the Moscow City Court on May 18, 1978 under Art. 70 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 7 years of imprisonment and 5 years of exile. He served his term in the Perm camps, and exile in the Yakut Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. 10/05/1986 expelled from the USSR. Rehabilitated on August 29, 1990 by the Supreme Court of the RSFSR for lack of corpus delicti. Died on September 27, 2020 in Ithaca, New York.
