Genus. in 1964 Lived in Kazakhstan, Petropavlovsk. In September 1982 he was drafted into the army and sent to serve in Afghanistan. 06/16/1983 deserted to go to the West. In November I was in the United States and received political refugee status. He got a job as a loader, then as a restorer. Yielding to the persuasion of the Soviet embassy staff, he decided to return to the USSR. In December 1984 in the USSR he was placed in Lefortovo prison and charged with treason. Sentenced by a military tribunal to 12 years in a high-security penal colony. On 12/11/1985 he was transferred to camp ZH-385/3-5 (village of Barashevo, Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic).
