Genus. 1938 in Dotnuva, (according to other sources, in Kaunas), Lithuania. In 1956 she entered the underground convent in Panevezys as a novice, and since 1958 she has been a nun. She completed nursing courses, worked in the Vilnius Children's Home, and then as an attendant at the Lithuanian SSR Museum of Art. Since 1972, she has been an active contributor to the Chronicle of the Lithuanian Catholic Church. Arrested on 08/27/1974, sent to a psychiatric hospital in Vilnius, and then in Novaya Vileika. 06/17/1975 The Supreme Court of the Lithuanian SSR sentenced under Article 68 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Lithuanian SSR (analogous to Article 70 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR) to 3 years of labor camp and 3 years of exile in Siberia. She served her sentence in the Varashevsky branch of Dubravlag (village of Yavas, Zubovo-Polyansky district, Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). Released 08/24/1977; in 1977-1980 served exile in the village. Boguchany, Krasnoyarsk Territory (Eastern Siberia), worked as a cleaner at a school. Returned to Lithuania on 07/09/1980. She continued her work on replicating and distributing the “Chronicles of the LCC”, delivering documents and oral information to Moscow. From November 1982 she was forced to go underground for 5 years and was put on the all-Union wanted list. While underground, she continued to collaborate with human rights activists, delivering the LKTs Chronicle and other illegal publications to Moscow. In October 1983, she sent the manuscript of her memoirs to the West (published in 1985 in the USA). Since 1987, she has been an active participant in the social movement in Lithuania. Awarded the Order of the Cross of the Pursuit, II class. (1998).
