Genus. in 1935, a Lithuanian, an active participant in the underground organization "Movement for the Freedom of Lithuania", in the 40s he took part in the partisan movement in Lithuania. In the mid-50s, he was in the hospital due to spinal tuberculosis. He spent several years in a plaster shell. Arrested in the hospital in 1955, sentenced to 3 years. Then the case went on for further investigation, and in 1956 he was sentenced to death. The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR replaced the execution with 25 years of imprisonment in a special regime correctional labor camp. He was kept in the 10th camp department (special regime).
In July 1970, he sent a statement to the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR requesting release. In the statement he wrote that he still does not feel sympathy for the authorities - this is due to the events of his youth (the murder of his father by security officers in 1941, terror, the eviction of Lithuanian families, etc.) and the conditions of subsequent imprisonment (hunger, senseless organization labor, etc.), but now refuses to fight due to its futility and after 15 years of imprisonment with poor health and asks for release. The response from the USSR Prosecutor's Office announced that there were no grounds for reconsidering the case. On December 10, 1971, he again appealed to the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR with a request for release, emphasizing the deteriorating state of health, difficult conditions of detention and his exemplary behavior and lack of penalties for 16 years of imprisonment. On February 3, 1977, he was released from the 19th Mordovian camp with a pardon. He returned to Lithuania, to Kaunas, and worked as a carpenter for a geological expedition. 02/24/1990 became a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Lithuanian SSR.
