Genus. in 1927 in the city of Aktyubinsk, Kazakh SSR. Since 1929 he lived permanently in Moscow. In 1954 he graduated from the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute. After graduating from the institute, he was assigned to the Research Institute of Radio Engineering under the Ministry of Radio Industry of the USSR.Since September 1978 tried to establish contact with the US intelligence services, it was only possible to meet with the US CIA resident in the USSR on 01/01/1979. When the resident asked about his motivation, he replied that he was a “dissident at heart” and would be able to assist the enemies of the USSR thanks to his access to secret data.
Over the course of six years, he managed to transfer 54 top secret developments to the United States of America, including the latest electronic control system for MiG aircraft and devices for bypassing radar stations.
06/09/1985 arrested. During the investigation, he confessed to everything and begged the Soviet leadership not to impose a death sentence on him. In 1986, the Supreme Court of the USSR sentenced him under Art. 64, part “a” of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for the death penalty by firing squad. On September 24, 1986, the sentence was carried out.
