Arrested on May 24, 1957 for participating in the underground group “Union of Communists.” Sentenced by the Leningrad Regional Court on September 19, 1957 under Art. 58-10 part 1, 58-11 to 10 years in labor camp. He served his sentence in Dubravlaga (Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic). By decree of the PVS of the RSFSR dated October 14, 1963, he was pardoned. Released on October 23, 1963.
