Genus. in 1937 in the Amur region, Belogorsk; Russian; higher education - in 1961. graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Irkutsk University; member of the CPSU;
While still a student, he began to publish in Irkutsk newspapers. After graduating from the ISU, for several years he was in full-time Komsomol work. In 1964, being the secretary of the Komsomol organization of the Bratskstroy trust, he sent a letter to the next congress of the Komsomol with the appendix of the treatise “What is to be done? Some painful problems of our youth movement”, where he criticized the state of affairs in the Komsomol and proposed to reform and democratize “not only the Komsomol, but the entire Soviet political system”. For this he was expelled from the CPSU and fired from his job. He left for the Far East, worked in a youth newspaper (Vladivostok). In the 1970s he returned to Irkutsk. In 1977, he taught an optional course in literature at one of the Irkutsk schools. An informal literary seminar was formed from his listeners (the participants called it the “Vampilov Book Association”, after the name of Alexander Vampilov). At the meetings, the works of sam- and tamizdat were discussed. After some parents complained to the KGB about the leader of the seminar, the classes were stopped. He began working as a gardener in the ISU Botanical Garden. He again organized an independent literary and ethical seminar "Partnership", published a typewritten journal "Literary Notebooks". In 1979, he was placed in a regional psychiatric hospital for several months. Arrested 05/26/1982. Sentenced by the Irkutsk Regional Court on March 29, 1983 under Article 70 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in prison and 3 years in exile. He served his term in the Perm camps - ВС-389/36, Chusovoy. Released in February 1987 under an amnesty. He was rehabilitated on March 28, 1990, by the decision of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR, the case was dismissed due to the lack of corpus delicti. After his release, he lived in Irkutsk. The stories began to be published in local periodicals, in Moscow publications, including the Ogonyok magazine. In 1990 he was elected editor of the regional newspaper "Golden Ring". He took the initiative to publish a literary newspaper for the Russian province "The Enchanted Wanderer". The editors and the readership of The Enchanted Wanderer in 1996 held an all-Russian seminar for young writers.
In the summer of 1997, he was invited by the governor of the Amur Region to work as an adviser on cultural issues.
He died on 04/05/2012 in the city of Blagoveshchensk, was buried in the city of Svobodny.
