Sharapov Ivan Prokofievich
Definition: Russian geologist (specialist in mathematical methods in geology and the study of trace elements in ores), dissident

Genus. in 1907 in the village. Kurdyuki, Inzhavinsky district, Tambov region; Russian higher education; member of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, expelled in January 1958. Graduated from the Central Asian Industrial Institute (Mining Faculty) in 1934. Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1947), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1987), geologist, exploration specialist, in 1948-1955. - head. Department of Exploration of Mineral Resources at Molotov (Perm) State University. Lived in Perm. In 1956-1957. wrote a large work (10 notebooks) on the social system in the USSR, paying special attention to the new class (nomenclature).
Arrested 02/28/1958. Under investigation in Perm, Butyrki, Lefortovo. Sentenced by the Perm Regional Court on December 11-17, 1958 under Art. 58-10, for writing texts containing accusations against the state, predation and environmental crimes, to 10 years in the camps (after cassation - to 8) + 5 years of disenfranchisement. He was held in prisons in Perm, Kirov, Vologda, Moscow, in a mental hospital and in Dubrovlag (Mordovia). By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR of 06/07/1961, the period was reduced to 3.5 years. Released 08/26/1961. He moved to Moscow to his daughter, then to Perm. He worked as a senior researcher at the Perm Research Institute of the Coal Industry. In 1964 - the removal of a criminal record. Since 1965 he worked as an assistant professor at the Ulyanovsk Pedagogical Institute. In March 1967, he was placed in a psychiatric dispensary. In October 1967, he was dismissed from the institute upon reaching retirement age. I left the dispensary. Since 1970 he lived in Moscow, conducted research and teaching activities, got acquainted with human rights activists and dissidents: P.G. Grigorenko, R.A. Medvedev, A.A. Zinoviev and others.
In 1976 he retired. In 1986 he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences. Rehabilitated on September 20, 1989 by the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR.
Died 08/10/1996. He was buried at the Babushkinsky cemetery in Moscow.
