Gordon Naum Solomonovich
Born in 1893 in Vilnius. Member of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) since 1921. From 1914 to 1921, he served in the army (as a volunteer in the Tsarist Army, and in command positions in the Red Army). From 1921 to 1925, he was chief of personnel, deputy chief of the district, and chief of the Political Secretariat of the Petrograd Railway District. In 1925-1926, he worked in Turkey for the USSR People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs, and from 1927 to 1931, he was deputy chairman of the Leningrad branch of the USSR Chamber of Commerce. From 1931 to 1938, he worked abroad as an authorized representative of the All-Union Chamber of Commerce for organizing and holding Soviet exhibitions at foreign fairs. First arrest - in 1938, released in January 1940. Lived in Leningrad (ul. S. Perovskoy, bldg. 1/3, apt. 23). Arrested for the second time in June 1940, sentenced to 8 years in the camps. Imprisoned in the Komi ASSR (UstVymLag) until May 1944, released due to illness, released with restrictions on living in 39 cities. From 1944 to January 1951 he worked in places permitted for residence: Menzelinsk, Zelenodolsk of the Tatar ASSR, the city of Tikhvin in the Leningrad region. In January 1951 he was arrested for the third time, sentenced to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan, Kustanai region. Released under amnesty in May 1953. In 1956 he was rehabilitated, reinstated in the party with retention of seniority, assigned a personal pension of the USSR. He returned with his family to Leningrad. Died in 1979.
