Genus. in 1880 in the city of Kovel, Volyn province. In 1894 he graduated from the Kremenets Theological School, in 1900 - the Volyn Theological Seminary, in 1904 - the Kyiv Theological Academy. Since 1913 - Bishop of Chistopol. Arrested in March 1921, sentenced to a year of forced labor. Since 1922 - Bishop of Samara and Stavropol. Arrested 02/24/1923. The criminal case was terminated by decision of the GPU Collegium on August 3, 1923. Released 08/04/1923.
Arrested on September 18, 1923, exiled for three years to Turkmenistan, and from 1925 to Krasnovodsk. Since 1928 - Archbishop of Odessa and Kherson. In 1932 he was elevated to the rank of metropolitan. Arrested on the night of August 9-10, 1936, sent to Butyrka prison. Sentenced on January 21, 1937 by a Special Meeting of the NKVD of the USSR to five years in the camps. He served his sentence in the Kyltovo agricultural colony in Komi. He died on January 10, 1938 in the Kyltovo camp hospital. Rehabilitated according to the Law of October 18, 1991.
