Born in 1878 (according to other sources - in 1872) in the city of Kungur, Perm Province, in the family of a priest. Graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary. From 1924 - Bishop of Kungur, Vicar of the Perm Diocese; from 1929 - Bishop of Omsk; from 1930 - Bishop of Cheboksary; from 1931 - Bishop of Sverdlovsk and Irbit. Arrested in 1931, sentenced to three years of exile in Kazakhstan. Released in 1935. Since 1935 - Bishop of Melekess, administrator of the Ulyanovsk Diocese. Arrested on September 29, 1935. Sentenced by the resolution of the Special Conference of the NKVD on January 21, 1937 to 5 years of personal service. In 1937, he was arrested in a camp on charges of belonging to a counter-revolutionary group. By a resolution of the troika of the NKVD NSO on 28.10.1937, he was sentenced to capital punishment. He was shot on 03.11.1937 near Kemerovo (according to other sources, in Novosibirsk).
