Born in 1918 in the village of Chuprovo, Bezhetsk district, Tver province. Lived in Leningrad (11th line of V.O., bldg. 20, apt. 31). Third-year student of the Philological Department of Leningrad State University. Arrested on 15.04.1941. Sentenced by the Leningrad Military District on 15.07.1941 under Art. 58-10, 58-11 to 8 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in camps in Novosibirsk and Kemerovo region. After his release in April 1949, he was sent into exile for life in the Kazachinsky district of Krasnoyarsk territory. Released under amnesty in May 1954. Rehabilitated on 17.10.1961 by the Military Commission of the USSR Armed Forces. Returned to Leningrad, worked as a loader, from 03.05.1957 - as an engineer at the "Radist" plant, later - deputy head of the MTS department. Again entered the philological faculty of Leningrad State University (evening and correspondence department), which he graduated in 1966. Worked for 10 years in the speech boarding school of Pavlovsk. After a heart attack in 1977, he had to leave his job. Since 1968, he wrote and published articles, headed the local history section of Pavlovsk, was a member of the council of the district branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments.
